Hypothesi is an educational consulting group committed to helping educators uncover research-based, data-driven
answers to questions related to their school improvement efforts. Hypothesi was created in response to the lack of technical
support for educational research and evaluation seen across charter schools and small private schools. While many large school districts
have shared district-level resources and staff for supporting this work, many independent schools have few places to turn when they need
help interpreting school performance data or investigating their own education-related questions. Hiring in-house staff necessary to do
this is often not an option due to budget and logistical constraints.
These constraints, however, must be overcome to "keep the doors open", raise the level of instruction, and get resources allocated where they are needed most. Hypothesi was created to help these schools bring to bear all the benefits of our increasingly data-rich educational environment, while minimizing the budget impact that all too frequently keep these benefits just out of reach.
We are based in Ann Arbor, Michigan and maintain strong ties with the University of Michigan (many of our consultants are alumni, now located across the country). Our clients range from very small independent schools to large educational organizations including Mosaica Education, Inc., Buck Institute for Education, the Center for Youth Program Quality, and the Center for Teaching Excellence at NYU.
